Jerome's Entry: My Wealth References

Here's an entry from Jerome Peralta:

Friends,

There are a lot of books out there teaches us on how to get rich and become financially free. They will give you different strategies and on how to make you get out of the rat race, make good money by having passive incomes and teach you how to destroy your money limiting beliefs. I may not read all of them but most of these books have in common. Something is lacking. The values are not present. I mean, after being rich and achieving your financial goals, what is next? What is the purpose of being rich anyway? I have the same opinion that, what will you do with your money afterwards is not a vital element in becoming rich. Yet, I believe this is important. Because there is something more significant than being rich and that is fulfilling your purpose. Fulfilling your purpose of becoming wealthy is the only thing that will make you satisfied and happy. I believe, it should be the end in our mind- Fulfilling your purpose.

If you are looking for a book that will guide you step by step in achieving financial independence personally, I recommend you reading first- Simplify and Live in Abundance, 8 Secrets of the Truly Rich and Choose to be Wealthy- books by Bo Sanchez. I suggest these not only because the proceeds of the books goes to different foundations and charities. But also, I find these books very easy to understand for someone like me who is taking their first step in achieving prosperity. It also gives you exactly what to do! Why do we need to save, how we can start our investments, what are the things we should consider before investing, whom we should approach, the holy use of money and when to start. This book is very practical and recommendations from the author is applicable to everyone especially Filipinos. The reasons are obvious because of two things. First, the author is a Filipino. If you are a Filipino you might want to get an advice that is applicable in Philippines right? There are many good books too authored by famous foreign financial experts however, their idea is somehow needed to adjust in order to adopt Philippine settings. Secondly, it is based from Bible. Bible is for everyone even for non-Christian and most especially dedicated for the non-believers. It answers all questions - money not exempted.

  1. One of the reasons I believed why the common Juan or Maria is so afraid to at least learn the stock market is that the terminology is "nakakadugo ng ilong" (nosebleed). One of the suggestion always said is for one to read the business section of the newspaper and jot down any term that you dont understand. Just jot it down and keep that section of the paper. When you have the time open the dictionary or if you have the internet access search the word that you dont understand and when you finally get the menaing and understand it go back to the business section of the newspaper you kept and read the article with new knowledge..... if you knew what it means of course you will understand. And if that doesn't work always ask.... as the Bible says "Ask and it shall be given"
